Orbital
Raised £4.0M
Orbital, a space data center startup that emerged in May from a16z’s Speedrun accelerator, raised a $5 million seed round as it builds toward running AI inference in orbit once Starship-scale launch capacity becomes viable. Founder and CEO Euwyn Poon, who previously founded scooter company Spin and later sold it to Ford, is leading the company, which counts backing from Basis Set, Human Element, Wayfinder, Antler, Anti Fund, Ascent, Rubik, Zero Knowledge Ventures, LYVC, Feld Ventures, New Legacy, FNDR, UpHonest and Asterisk. The firm plans to first validate GPU hardware in space before scaling toward a distributed satellite compute network over the coming years.\n\nFOUNDER: Euwyn Poon\n\nINVESTORS: Basis Set, Human Element, Wayfinder, Antler, Anti Fund, Ascent, Rubik, Zero Knowledge Ventures, LYVC, Feld Ventures, New Legacy, FNDR, UpHonest & Asterisk\n\nROUND: Seed\nAMOUNT: $5,000,000\n\nHQ: Los Angeles, California\n\n#VentureCapital #Orbital #EuwynPoon #TradedVC
